“That is completely false”: Key Fulham man seems to put social media rumours to bed

|

I’m still trying to work out whether or not this is a good thing or a bad thing for him to be doing.

I’ve said before that I’m not a fan of the way Tony Khan deals with things on social media, but at least this time he was giving us supposedly good news, so it’s a bit of a catch-22 in my eyes.

There were some rumours flying around on social media yesterday (and for legal and technical reasons I should point out they were only rumours) that things weren’t right with Aleksandar Mitrovic and that he was being forced to train alone. The only reason it might come across as somewhat believable is that it might go some way to explaining his recent bad form if he’s unhappy at the club, but again I stress there’s nothing official to confirm or suggest anything.

The only thing official about the scenario came from our Director of Football yesterday, as he took to social media to categorically deny that there was anything special or different happening with the Serbian forward at the club:

Is Aleksandar Mitrovic our most important player?

Yes

No

Which is good news.

Even though Mitrovic hasn’t been at his best recently, there’s no denying that he can still be an important player for us, just as he has been in the past, so for him to be ostracised at this stage wouldn’t be the best move for the club.

Just keep the faith, he’ll come good again.

What about you? What do you make of Khan’s comments?
