When Roy Hodgson coughed up the sum of £350,000 for the services of the Darlington keeper, David Stockdale, many thought he has spotted that certain something that make keepers a special breed.

But, the signing of Mark Schwarzer has seen opportunities for Stockdale to be limited.

Swansea City web-sites are no broadly proclaiming that Stockdale is about to join them on loan after being left with just one keeper on the clubs books.

The loan looks to be feasible because Hodgson surprised us all in the transfer window by signing the elderly Pascal Zuberbuhler.

But, if Stockdale does go on loan we hope there`d be a return clause as an injury to either of our previously mentioned keepers would leave us a little scarce with regard to top-notch stoppers now that Niemi has retired and Keller and Warner have departed to pastures new!
