Fulham ground out a 0-0 draw up on Wearside in a game that was drab to say the least.

Perhaps the only positive point to come from the affair was that the result meant that Fulham had gone the whole month of February unbeaten.

After the success in the Europa League, in the Ukraine, it was back to the bread and butter of the Premier League this afternoon with the long trip to the Stadium of Light.

For the fixture Roy Hodgson made one change to the starting eleven from the other night with Nicky Shorey coming in for Stephen Kelly. Up front Bobby Zamora had recovered from the Achilles injury he had picked up against Shakhtar Donetsk.

The first half was a real drab affair with neither goal keeper being extended. Fulham created slightly the better half chances with Gera`s half volley flying wide and Zamora placing a deft header, from a Simon Davies chip, nearer to the corner flag than the goal.

The closest Sunderland came to sparking an injection of life into the game was when they had a penalty appeal turned down after Richardson clearly ran into the back of Shorey before tumbling over.

The half finished with Jones firing a shot over and Schwarzer dealing with a shot from Bent.

Hopefully the second half would provide better fare!

Unfortunately it didn`t, it produced more of the same stale football we`d seen in the first half. Sunderland threatened briefly when Bent fizzed a shot wide and Hutton hit an effort straight at Schwarzer.

With the natives getting restless one good counter-attack saw Duff drag a shot wide when the glory was there for the taking. Bolo Zenden, on as a substitute, looked the most likely Sunderland player to break the dead-lock and one pass saw a Hutton shot rippled the side netting whilst another saw Campbell fire over.

Not the best of entertainment I`m afraid and not that much to report home about!
