When Dejan Stefanovic signed from Portsmouth many supporters raised their eyebrows.

Did we need another centre half considering those we already had?

After the poor performances given by Dejan in his early games there was perhaps grounds to consider those who had raised their eyebrows to be correct.

However, after discovering he`d had little or no pre-season any hasty decisions were put on the back-burner.

Dejan went away, got fit and is now a regular starter. He`s also well aware of the problems the team faces and has spoken about how they are affecting the performance of the side.

Here`s what he had to say in a recent interview with the media,

“It`s too early to judge this team. Maybe we could have taken more points, but most teams have these thoughts.”

“In the summer we signed 15 new players so it`s a new team. But we`ve got good players. In the beginning there were too many international games with players away. But from now, everyone will be at the club so we can get to know each other better and, in time, we can perform better.”

Our major concern is that by the time the team does start to gel, it could be too late to rectify a situation we`re all dreading – the threat of relegation!

  • its the same old story!! We are experts of drawing!! Funny how we are all forgetting we’ve lost 2 of the last 8 games!! Thats not a bad statistic! No need to worry anyway! Derby, Wigan and boro are gonna go down! 😛

  • …thats two more than pompey… if you could kil a game off in the first half, you would be great – but your defence is still week, and dejan was not a big improvement.

  • I still feel Dejan can do a job this season, he needs a long run of games, I`m expecting a lot more from him.
