Our recent signing from Tottenham Hotspur, the Canadian defender Paul Stalteri, looks set to make his home debut in the fixture against West Ham United this Saturday.
Stalteri, described by Spurs supporters as a solid professional who always gives 100%, is obviously keen to help us escape from the relegation dog-fight. Speaking to the media, he had this to say,
“The bottom line is there are 12 games left. We need to win one or two games on the road and try and win the majority of our home games.”
In theory, it looks easy until you look at the statistics that show we`ve only one three games all season.
Can we survive purely on optimism, I very much doubt it. Three points this Saturday is an absolute must!

you do know his 100% is like 10% of any normal person? gd luck with that one
Absolute funking rubbish simpz. Stalteri is a good journeyman footballer and is definately worth being in the PL. His major shortcoming for us was getting done on the byline too many times… and they seemed to come at crunch times. But I can name you a hat full of other full backs that must own up to that who don’t have his quality going forward and would flounder at LB or RM whilst Stalteri quietly gets on with the job he’s asked to do
nice to see the Spuds boyz arguing amongst each other 🙂
Personally, if you wish to stay up I believe you should have aimed higher than a Spurs has-been!
merlin, thanks for your cutting comments – I hope we survive to cross swords next season! As for Stalteri – he’ll do fine for us – you’ll see!
Im really looking forward to seeing him play and getting my own opinion
RH hasn’t signed a dud yet, unlike the idiot whose name I shalt not type! Look at RH’s boys that have been playing for us, Hangerland looks solid, Andreasan (however you spell his name!)has been superb for us imo, Nevland looks an intelligent player. I’m sure Stalteri will come good for us!
Would like to see this guy answer the questions put to him on his web site.
..Also, i saw him play for the reserves and as someone has commented he was solid but unspectacular.
i dont think we need a spectacular right back. Solid will do for us for now!
