According to ‘The People` newspaper, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly going to make a bid for Portuguese international, Luis Boa Morte, when the transfer window opens in January.

Spurs boss Martin Jol is still desperately in need of a left winger, despite having a hugely populated midfield.

Jol, is reportedly going to offer cash plus Wayne Routledge, for the 29 year old Portuguese left winger.

Luis Boa Morte signed a new Fulham contract last season but Tottenham are still hopeful they may be able to land their man in a cash-plus-player deal.

Routledge is currently on loan at Craven Cottage and it has been claimed he could be part of the deal.

Martin Jol has always sung Routledge’s praises and would like to keep him at White Hart Lane, but the need for a left-winger is a priority and Jol may have to sacrifice the former Crystal Palace man.

Routledge has not featured regularly for Fulham since moving on a season-long loan switch but his first-team chances at Spurs have been very rare since he joined the club, and made difficult to get into the team by Aaron Lennon and Hossam Ghaly.

In the Summer transfer window, Fulham star Steed Malbranque made the cross river switch to Spurs, are they now set to take another Fulham star.
