Hopes of getting three wins on the bounce as well as three valuable points to stave off the threat of relegation were dashed at White Hart Lane this afternoon as Fulham crashed to defeat.

Although the teams were evenly matched in the first half Spurs were to punish Fulham for some slack defending in the second half.

The first half, slow in getting going, saw Spurs take the lead after thirty five minutes through Paulinho. The goal coming after Eriksen had delivered a delightful free kick from the right wing which caused all sorts of problems in the Fulham defence before Paulinho bundled the ball over the line from close range.

Spurs were only ahead for ninety seconds though before Fulham equalised through Sidwell. Fryers in the Spurs defence, made a costly error and Sidwell latched onto the loose ball to fire past Lloris in the Spurs goal.

Prior to Spurs opening the scoring Spurs had gone closest when Lennon saw Stockdale tip his effort onto the post after another set-piece from Erikson had caused Fulham problems.

Half Time – Spurs 1 Fulham 1

Fulham were to fall behind early in the second half when, with forty-eight minutes gone, when Harry Kane netted. Lennon, influential on the wing, cut back a floated ball which Kane glanced home past Stockdale.

Fulham tried, just like in the first half, to get back on level terms quickly but were denied when Lloris produced a fine save to turn a headed effort from Rodallega over the bar.

Spurs all but wrapped up the three points just past the hour mark when Younes Kaboul when Erikson delivered another telling set-piece that saw Kaboul score from close range.

Fulham had a chance to reduce the arrears and get back into the game when Eriksen handled the ball in his own area. Sidwell stepped up but his spot-kick was straight down the middle and was pushed away by Lloris.

The defeat leaves it all to do for Fulham with three games left to secure Premier League survival.
