Fulham`s fine recent form continued in South Yorkshire today when they went to Hillsborough and beat a fellow promotion play-off side, Sheffield Wednesday.

The win cemented Fulham`s sixth place position in the Championship but recent performances suggest that it is the Cottagers who everyone will fear ahead of the play-offs starting.

As the Championship season galloped to a finish Fulham have been to and won at both Huddersfield and Sheffield Wednesday, one of who will be in the play-off final.

Fulham will meet, over two-legs, Reading, a team they thrashed at Craven Cottage earlier this season.

Against Sheffield Wednesday, Fulham fell a goal behind early on when Sam Winnall scored for our hosts.

But Fulham, starting to control the game with some exquisite football, were to equalise when a fine move ended with Neeskens Kebano finishing off a cross from Denis Odoi.

On the stroke of half-time our hosts were reduced to ten-men when Maco Matais was shown a red card for a foul on Odoi.

The winning goal was a bit of a scramble as Sheffield Wednesday struggled to clear the ball and when Lucas Piazon nudged it towards goal Kebano was on hand to score his second goal of the game.

The margin of victory could have been more with Scott Malone probably still wondering how he rattled the bar with a shot rather than stick it in the net.

But the Cottagers are well placed to spring a surprise and return to the Premier League via the play-offs.
