Okay, the headline looks enticing enough even if I have to admit it`s a bit harsh.

News has reached us that our crucial fixture (I say crucial because it is going to be our first away win of the season) is going to be officiated by a man (or boy) with a reputation.

A certain Stuart Attwell has been named as the referee on Saturday.

That`s right1 The very same person who awarded that ghost goal at Vicarage Road this season.

Atwell, at the tender age of twenty five (has he started shaving yet?) is the youngest official ever to reach the hallowed level of being a Premier League referee.

He`s been officiating since his teenage years and, despite his previous errors, we have no qualms, despite our jesting, about him taking charge on Saturday.

Good luck Mr Atwell I`m sure you`ll do us, sorry the game, proud!

  • I have to say being a 17 year old referee going through the ranks myself im very impressed that Atwell is being given a chance!

    Good luck on him

  • our first away win u htink your so cockey we havnt done well no win but some really good draws do no underestimate stoke there good at home were also good but they got height and power

  • Bit young for a prem. ref. in my book, how can he have the experience at such a young age to know how to properly police a top league game and its players, well i guess we`ll soon see, nothing personal, i just think the age is too young.
