After losing out on a share of the spoils in the dying seconds of the clash at Villa Park, Lawrie Sanchez had a few choice words to say about the match.
Much of his anger was directed at the referee, Steve Bennett, with Lawrie proclaiming,
“I`ve seen the penalty this time. It was bang to rights and clearly handball. It would have put us 2-0 up – and I think we could have held on to a 2-0 lead.”
Lawrie then went on to bemoan the fact we`re having trouble holding on to a lead, remarking,
“We`ve led three times and lost and we are in a bit of bit of a predicament at the moment. But we`re having no luck whatsoever. This is another major error by referees. They`re having as a time as goalkeepers at the moment.”
At Vital Fulham we wait with baited breath to see if Steve Bennett will offer us an apology or is it only Liverpool that gets that kind of preferable treatment!
