Away on duty with Costa Rica, preparing for the Gold Cup, it appears that Bryan Ruiz will finally be leaving Fulham Football Club.

Ruiz, a big-money signing during our Premier League days, has been the subject of much speculation with regards to his future over the past twelve months.

During the ill-fated reign of Felix Magath, Ruiz wasn`t considered to be part of the clubs plans but, last season, he featured in thirty-three games and, despite doing their utmost to remove him from the books, the club took up an option on his contract to extend his deal by another season, fearing that after paying s much for the player he might be able to walk off into the sunset on a free transfer.

However, it is now being reported in the Portuguese press that Fulham have reached agreement with Sporting Lisbon which will see Ruiz become a Lisbon player on a permanent basis with a fee coming Fulham`s way.

The fee mentioned is just ?2 million, which falls far short of what we paid but then again I guess it is better than nothing.

Here at Vital Fulham I`d like to thank Bryan Luiz for his contribution to the cause and perhaps we`ll put his move away as more to do with circumstances than his undoubted talent.
