Bryan Ruiz, as we reported, earlier this week, is no longer a Fulham player.

Confirmation has come through that Ruiz has now finally left Craven Cottage after signing a three-year contract with the Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.

His career has come to an end with the Costa Rican having played 106 games and scoring 13 times, after being bought from FC Twente in 2011, for a fee of £10.6 million.

Last season 29-year-old Ruiz made 32 appearances for Fulham in the Championship.

However, Sporting Lisbon have inserted a clause in the aforementioned three-year deal which includes a buy-out clause of, wait for it, a huge £43 million.

Here at Vital Fulham we`d like to wish Bryan all the best in Portugal and thank him for his valued contribution to the cause during his time here and we truly wish that things might have turned out differently.
