More than two weeks after the axing of Kit Symons, there`s still no white smoke coming out of the Craven Cottage chimney to suggest a new manager has been found.

Several potential candidates, during the last fortnight, have been mentioned but no appointment has been forthcoming.

Today the bookmakers have come forward and installed the current Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett as the new favourite for the vacant job.

However, when it comes to any substantiating evidence backing up the claim, we`re found wanting with the BBC West Midlands confirming that Birmingham City have received no official approach from Fulham Football Club to talk to their manager.

So still we wait!
