Embarking on a Europa League adventure, to Croatia, for a third qualifying round tie with RNK Split, Fulham have left themselves with a dangerous looking second leg.

Our failure to score that vital away goal means that if Split were to score at Craven Cottage we`d be up against the wall.

In Split, Martin Jol picked a strong looking side but it was a side that struggled when it came to cohesion and created only one decent looking chance, sadly that resulted in Bobby Zamora failing to trouble the keeper.

Split, although a little sharper than Fulham, created several chances but none better than when Erceg beat the offside trap only to scuff his effort wide.

Speaking about the encounter, afterwards, Martin Jol had this to say to the media,

“We didn`t do enough with the ball in their half and we have to do better.”

“I am satisfied with the result but I`m not happy. To get a 0-0 away against a good side is okay. But we didn`t create enough down the spine of the team.”

“We will show more initiative in the second leg next week.”

Let`s hope so, it`d be a crying shame to see our Europa League hopes dashed so early in the season.
