Ream Not Ready to Give Up Chase for Second Place

|

The stoppage time equaliser Brentford scored, at Craven Cottage, on Saturday evening, silenced the home support.

With the spoils shared, Fulham remained in third place in the Championship, failing to jump above Cardiff City into second place.

The draw handed the initiative back to Cardiff when it comes to joining Wolverhampton Wanderers as the two teams automatically promoted.

However, talking to the media after the game, Tim Ream wasn’t prepared to throw in the towel just yet when it came to that second automatic promotion place, remarking to the media:

“We have to win every game now to go up automatically. But you never now. Crazier things have happened.

“We know what the situation is now. We know, starting with Millwall on Friday night, we have to win. There’s no getting around that.

“This result feels like a defeat. We’re trying to figure out how we drew the game.

“But it’s football. You deal with it, you live with it. It’s unfortunate but we move on.”

The draw did feel like a defeat, but Fulham live to fight again and, as Tim mentioned, you just never know in this strange game of ours.
