The honours were shared in a battling game, at the Madejski Stadium when two sides with promotion aspirations went head-to-head.

After seeing a late equaliser, from Norwich City, deprive them of all three points in their opening Championship fixture, last weekend, Fulham were hoping to get that first Championship win of the season down in Berkshire.

Unfortunately, any pre-match plans made by Slavisa Jokanovic went out of the window after thirty-nine seconds when Tomas Kalas was shown a straight red-card for hauling down the Reading striker, Mo Barrow.

For Kalas, the Madejski Stadium is definitely not a happy hunting ground with the defender having conceded a penalty in the play-off semi-final last season.

Reduced to ten-men, Fulham produced a spirited defensive performance with David Button producing some good saves.

Sadly, the defence was finally breached when, around the hour mark, Liam Kelly netted, from the edge of the box, for our hosts.

Fulham now had a mountain to climb but were to take a share of the spoils when a poor back-pass, seven minutes from time, from Joey van den Berg was latched on to by Lucas Piazon, on as a substitute, finished with some aplomb, against another club he had spent time on loan with.

The result leaves Fulham having drawn both their Championship fixtures this season, whereas Reading have lost one game and drawn the other, not the best of starts to the season for two sides hopeful of promotion.
