QPR 2 Fulham 1

Fulham gifted QPR their first win of the season with a very poor performance at Loftus Road this afternoon.

Buoyed by the victory over Newcastle, on Monday evening, Martin Jol chose to make one change to his starting eleven for the short trip to Loftus Road with Kieran Richardson coming in for Alex Kacaniklic.

Our hosts had an early chance when good work from Taarabt created a chance for Cisse but Schwarzer was able to save thanks to Hangeland`s pressure on the striker, although Cisse believed he`d been fouled. Riise then played a back-pass to Schwarzer without looking and Jamie Mackie collected the ball but his shot rolled wide of the post.

Fulham weathered the early storm by keeping possession but Taarabt was still looking lively with Fulham offering very much on the attacking front. As half time approached, Fulham were denying Taarabt getting the ball and suddenly were looking comfortable although, to be fair, Martin Jol didn`t look too happy on the touchline.

Half Time – QPR 0 Fulham 0

The second half saw Stephen Kelly start, in place of the injured Sascha Riether. Unfortunately for Fulham, QPR took the lead when Taarabt saw his shot take a deflection to beat Schwarzer.

QPR were on top now and Nelsen`s pass to Cisse saw the striker beat Schwarzer and the post after Chris Baird had been caught in possession. Matters got worse for QPR we Taarabt doubled QPR`s lead when he produced a sparkling run to beat three Fulham defenders before rolling it into the net past Schwarzer.

The arrears were reduced when a deflection, from a Petric shot saw the ball loop over Robert Green with two minutes of normal time left.

Fulham, very poor in the second half, never looked like getting an equalizer and could have conceded a third through Traore.
