London Road saw Fulham take on newly promoted Peterborough this afternoon and those assembled were treated to a thriller, even if Fulham did throw away a three goal lead.

Roy Hodgson took a strong side to Cambridgeshire, a side that included Bobby Zamora who is still mulling over a move to Hull City, in fact Zamora was to play a pivotal role in proceedings.

Clint Dempsey, having returned from international duty, got the goal feast underway in the twenty-second minute, finishing a slick move that saw him collect a return pass from Zamora before finishing neatly.

Thirteen minutes later, Zamora doubled the Fulham lead when he raced on to a through ball from Erik Nevland and finished with aplomb. Just before half time, Zamora put us three goals ahead, with his second of the match, finishing superbly from the edge of the area.

Three goals to the good at the break Fulham were looking comfortable. In fact when Aaron Mclean reduced the arrears for the home side, calming slipping past Zuberbuhler to score, we didn`t look t be in too much danger.

Roy Hodgson took the opportunity, as is often the case in pre-season matches, to introduce a plethora of substitutes. Kelly, Smalling, Seol, Harris, Baird and Johnson were all introduced in the second period and with five minutes left it looked like the game was won.

But George Boyd, himself a Posh substitution on the hour mark, had other ideas. In the 85th minute when he forced home a loose ball from close range and then in the 87th minute he was brought down, in the area by Chris Smalling but calmly got up to slot home the equaliser for Darren Ferguson`s side.

We`ll not quibble about the result, seeing as it was a friendly, but any repetition in the league will not go down so easily!
