Two wins in a week, at home to the MK Dons and away to Preston North End, have put some daylight between Fulham and the relegation places.

As we prepare to welcome promotion chasing Cardiff City to Craven Cottage this afternoon, the chances of Fulham slipping into the third tier of English football have lessened considerably.

But, ahead of the game with Cardiff, Scott Parker has issued an honest assessment of just how bad a season it has been, with Scott having remarked to the media,

“It`s been very difficult. It`s been a bit of a mess.

“None of us at the club, including the owner, anticipated we`d be where we are.

“Our main focus is staying up – and we`ve got our heads around it and realised the situation we were in.

“It`s about points now.

“We`ve got some, so it`s a big relief.”

It is a relief, it is bad enough being stuck in the Championship after being a Premier League for so long, but to drop into the third tier??it doesn`t bare thinking about.
