Despite nearing full fitness, our German defender, Moritz Volz, may have to wait a little longer to regain his first team place.

Volz, who has only made two appearances this season due to foot, hip and shoulder injuries, is a victim of the fine form of our teenager, Elliot Omozusi.

Elliot, who celebrated his nineteenth birthday on Saturday, has been impressive since nudging his way into contention.

The ex-Academy player was in contention to be named man-of-the-match (albeit a disappointing match) against Newcastle and he has nothing wrong to convince Lawrie Sanchez that Volz is a better proposition.

I guess its one positive point in what has, so far, been a disappointing season.

  • A Defender a positive point to the season! may i just tap the table again and make a point. Tap Tap Tap, yes -10 goal differnce that isn’t good

  • Konchesky will do us fine!!! He’s class. As for junior… well. Volz will have to wait for some time!! I think Stefanovic is the weak link in our defence!! as soon as Christinval is back and gets a run going then him and hughes will be a great pairing!!
