Few would have expected Fulham’s pre-season friendly in Nice to be quite as easy as it proved to be in the end with the club literally strolling to victory at the Stade Municipal du Ray.

Mladen Petric’s fine goalscoring form continued as he opened the scoring in the first half and then just before the break he set up Alex Kacaniklic to increase this lead.

Petric was again the provider for Mahamadou Diarra to score a rare goal to further extend the lead with young talent Mesca wrapping up a 4-0 win 10-minutes from time.

Pre-season is pre-season, results count for little (positive or negative) when the season gets underway but a win, and such an impressive one will certainly help.

The gruelling pre-season programme in the Swiss Alps has definitely paid off with the fitness levels very high!
