With our latest target, Craig Gordon, now being tracked by a host of other clubs, it looks extremely likely that we`ll fail in our quest to sign the Scottish keeper.

After having had a £3 million bid rejected in the last January transfer window, it would seem that the fee now required to acquire his services has at least doubled.

Amongst the latest to be linked to Gordon are Tottenham Hotspur with the tabloids suggesting Martin Jol would like to sign him to provide a bit of competition with Paul Robinson for the keepers role.

However, perhaps the possibility of regular first team football may prove to be our trump card. With Anti Niemi supposedly targeted by West Ham United, Gordon knows that the keepers` role would be his down at Craven Cottage.

Obviously, the major stumbling block could be his salary. Would Fulham be prepared to match any offers he`s received by other clubs?

We`ll endeavour to keep you posted.
