West London has always been a hot-bed of football.

The region may not have had the historical success, quantity wise, of North London but it has three clubs who have staunchly loyal followings, followings that have seen the fortunes of their respective clubs stutter.

At the moment, out of the three clubs – Fulham, Chelsea and Queens Park Rangers – two are going through turbulent times.

Down the Fulham Road, Chelsea are experiencing major problems. The ‘Special One` has departed and his replacement, Avram Grant, has been widely accepted as a suitable replacement. On the pitch the team are experiencing their worse start for some nine years and haven`t won a Premier League game in four outings. More importantly, despite having spent millions on their expensive squad, it appears that they can`t hit the proverbial barn-door having not scored in any of those last four games.

Up the road and across at Shepherds Bush, Queens Park Rangers are faring no better. Yesterday they dispensed with the services of John Gregory after his side had crashed 5-1 at West Bromwich therefore continuing a dreadful run that has seen them become the last English side in the top four divisions yet to secure a win. Off the pitch they`ve been subjected to a takeover with an injection of cash from a Formula One team boss.

Here at Craven Cottage, we may be still seeking our first away win, we may be sitting lower than Chelsea in the Premier League and we may not have the cash they have at their disposal but despite all this, I just get the feeling that out of the three groups of supporters, strangely, we could be considered, at the moment, to be the most content.

Couldn`t we?
