It`s interesting to see that both ourselves and our opposition, Swansea, are in a position that may see one of us qualify for the Europa League next season through the Fair Play League.

It was a route that saw us participate in that very competition earlier this season and meant that our close season break was very truncated.

Speaking about the possibility of wining the Fair Play League and getting back into the Europa League, Martin Jol`s comments indicate a kind of mixed reaction.

See what you think,

“Fulham have won the Fair Play Cup twice before.”

“But I would not be over the moon to win the Fair Play Cup, as sometimes it is a signal you are not tough enough or strong enough in the tackle.”

“We are a bit like that sometimes. It`s about your style. I don`t want to mention names but some clubs have a different style. We have football players, especially in the past month or so we have played with five forwards.”

So is Jol asking for his side to get a bit more physical and stick the boot in?

  • that’s a bit silly… fulham plays in a nice style, and swansea has risen up the table playing “the RIGHT way”… with euros this might not be the year to win the fair play league, but it’s an opportunity for european football, something that might keep dempsey in the squad…
