Mitrovic In Danger Of Being Priced Out Of A Move To Craven Cottage

|

When Slavisa Jokanovic brought his fellow countryman, Aleksandar Mitrovic, to Craven Cottage, many believe it was the catalyst that spurred Fulham on to achieve promotion.

With no apparent future at Newcastle, under Rafael Benitez, Mitrovic showed that the Spaniard may have flawed judgment by hitting the net regularly for Fulham.

After that wonderful afternoon, at Wembley, when Fulham beat Aston Villa in the Play-Off Final, Mitrovic admitted he didn’t know what the future held for him when it came to where he would be playing his football next season.

The Fulham support would be ecstatic if the Serbian signed on the dotted line for the club, on a permanent deal.

Unfortunately, his recent run of good form could very well see the club priced out of a deal.

Yesterday, playing for Serbia in a friendly international against Bolivia, Mitrovic scored his first ever hat-trick as the Serbians romped to a 5-1 win.

Those three goals take Mitrovic’s tally to 17 goals, for club and country, in his last 22 games.

So, whereas, Newcastle might have accepted around £15 million for the player back in the January transfer window, we can’t help thinking the glut of goals he’s scored since the turn of the year, has seen his price probably increased.

In fact, the increase could well have seen Fulham priced out of the market for the striker.

We can only sit and wait to see what happens next.
