Last night gave Fulham supporters another opportunity to see just why Fulham Football Club, in a moment of unjustified madness, splashed a fortune out on the Greek striker Kostas Mitroglou.

With scant evidence provided during our ill-fated relegation season, Fulham supporters were perhaps hoping that Mitroglou would provide some inspirational moments to explain why such a large amount of cash was splurged on the former Olympiakos centre-forward.

But there were none!

Mitroglou managed one terrible effort (that was way off target) before limping off in the latter stages of the first half after picking up a knock.

Perhaps if we`re looking into reasons why he was such a dismal failure last season then we need look no further than the words of our former skipper, Brede Hangeland, who remarked on Norwegian TV,

“He`s too slow, too heavy, too lazy.”

Ouch!
