If fate has it in its mind to dump us into League Two then when we all look back on what went wrong, the words spoken by Ross McCormack after the victory over the MK Dons, on Saturday, might well serve as our Championship epitaph.

McCormack, who has done exceedingly well to score 20 goals in the league this season and for a side that has still to escape the prospect of being relegated, has remarked,

“It`s a surprise that we`re in this position if you look at the players we have in the team.

“But collectively we just haven`t been good enough. Last season was the same.”

Now McCormack, in my opinion, has got it spot on and those very words have been previously spoken by other members of the first team squad.

The only puzzle that you and I need answering is if so many of the players know what the problem is then why does if keep happening?
