McBride stays on

Brian McBride has signed a new contract with Fulham that will keep him at the club until the end of next season.

The American striker’s contract was only due to run until this summer but he has now penned a twelve month extension to his contract to keep him at the club until the summer of 2007.

The 33-year-old former, Preston and Everton striker has hit ten league goals for Fulham this season and 24 in 50 games since joining the Whites at the beginning of last season.

He has struck up an effective partnership with Heider Helguson this season, producing 19 goals between them in the league.

Manager Chris Coleman could not hide his delight. Speaking to FulhamFc.com of the news Coleman enthused:

‘I am delighted that we have secured the services of Brian for a further season.

?I cannot speak highly enough about the player who has probably been one of our most impressive and consistent this season.

?Brian is a consummate professional who always gives 100 percent whether it’s on the training pitch or in a game, and it’s a pleasure to have him in my squad.?
