If the rumour mill is correct, Brian McBride faces a very difficult decision in the next few weeks.

McBride, who will be 36 shortly, overcame a horrific knee injury to more than play his part in keeping Fulham in the Premier League.

Unfortunately, his contract is coming to an end and the American has expressed a desire to return to the USA.

Waiting in the wings are two MLS Clubs, Columbus Crew and Chicago Fire.

If McBride does decide to return home for the sake of his family, he`ll leave Craven Cottage having scored 32 times in 140 appearances.

Hopefully, that won`t be the case and he`ll accept that new one year deal reportedly put before him by those in charge at Fulham!

  • I know he was seriously contemplating going back a few years ago so it wouln’t surprise me if he called time now. Would love to keep him as a player-coach but I think he’s keen on the US of A….

  • I hope he stays! He will be a HUGE lost if he goes. If he does then I think Hangeland will be captain. Then either Johnson gets good or we will need another big stiker! Shame Koller doesn’t want to come to England! I’m sure Roy will see alot during euro 2008.

  • His return at the end was really important for your survival. The best player you have and the only out and out goal scorer

  • mcbride is the type of player who can literally inspire an entire team. it would be a big loss for you. as an american, i wouldn’t mind seeing him play locally, though.

  • I think he’s going. I’m certain I read a rumour that he stayed this season as his kids were settled in school here in England so he decided to sign a one yr deal with us… can’t recall where that came from or if I imagined it but we all know that McGod wants to go back to the US, massive blow for us. Eddie Johnson has disappeared, John has a lot to prove and Kamara hasn’t done enough to prove he’s a no 1 goalscorer. I’ll reserve judgment on Nevland but he looks like a backup player
