And so a game we needed to win has slipped from our grasp and our chances of avoiding relegation just got a little slimmer.
If a club, like us, harbours ambitions of avoiding relegation then you really should be going t a fellow relegation haunted candidate, like Cardiff, and come back with some kind of result.
But, in true Fulham style this season, we didn`t.
Instead we slipped to a calamitous 3-1 defeat and afterwards Felix Magath, who looks more and more like ‘Where`s Wally` every time I see him, had this to say,
‘It’s not too good today but for us always a problem (when we concede).”
‘Until the goal we played OK but one goal and the confidence is over.”
‘We have got nine games and 27 points to play for which is a lot but in our situation. We have to win our home games like Cardiff have done today.”
‘The only thing that can help us (confidence wise) is a win next week against Newcastle. We will work in defending better.”
‘Yes (we can avoid relegation).’
