The exodus of players from Craven Cottage has continued today with the departure of Andy Lonergan.

Lonergan has, after a spell at Fulham whereby he was utilised when Marcus Bettinelli picked up a serious injury, has joined our fellow Championship club, Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 32-year-old keeper who has also played for Preston North End, Leeds United and Bolton Wanderers during his career, has signed a two year-deal with the Moulineux club with the option of an extra twelve months.

Last season, with Bettinelli out injured, Lonergan played 31 times for Fulham in a season where our defence was the most breached in the Championship.

Talking about his move to Wolves, Lonergan is quoted in the media as having remarked,

‘Wolves is a massive club and one of those when you play them you always know it is going to be a tough game and the atmosphere is fantastic.

“To be part of that, and hopefully a successful team at Molineux, is something I am looking forward to.”

Here at Vital Fulham we`d like to thank Andy Lonergan for his service to Fulham Football Club and wish him well at Wolves.
