Are Fulham about to sell somebody only to see the player sold on for a higher price in the not too distant future?
It is an intriguing question!

The thorny subject of the future of Bryan Ruiz and the need to get his extortionate salary of the books, has seen Fulham almost come to a deal with Sporting Lisbon for the player.

It is believed that Ruiz will have his medical at Sporting Lisbon this Monday (6th July) and will sign on the line for a cut-price fee.

Sporting are known as a financially prudent club and the insinuation being bandied about is that the Portuguese could possibly hold on to Ruiz for a year, watch as his style of play blossoms and then sell the Costa Rican on at a higher price.

It is a nice theory but is it a fallible one?

If it was that easy to increase the price Ruiz will eventually cost someone, wouldn`t his efforts whilst on loan / playing for Fulham enable us to do something similar?

Or are we just caught between the devil and the deep blue sea whereby any potential buyers know we are desperate to alleviate the burden Ruiz`s salary puts on our finances?
