It’s a done deal for Fulham, the loan arrival of Cardiff’s Joe Lewis has been confirmed.

Kit Symons had revealed a ‘keeper was lined up as a replacement for the injured Marcus Bettinelli, who would act as competition for Andy Lonergan in this absence with fulhamfc.com announcing today that Lewis is that man.

He’s come in from Cardiff with the 27-year-old arriving on a season-long loan from the Bluebirds, so this isn’t a short-term deal as previously reported.

Lewis is keen to get involved and wants to help play a part in turning the season around and pushing the Whites back towards a Premier League return, he said.

‘I’m delighted. It all happened quite quickly. Obviously Marcus got injured and the club saw that it was a bad one and acted to get some cover.

‘There’s real potential here. Fulham were recently in the Premier League and you just feel that the Club is ready to be back there as well, so hopefully I can be part of something that will get us there.’

It’ll interesting to see who Symons goes with? Lonergan would have expected to act as Bettinelli’s deputy, however I wouldn’t have thought he would expected to do this with another ‘keeper brought in would he!

Lewis on the other hand wouldn’t have come to Craven Cottage simply to make up the numbers over the months would he….

The most worrying thing of all though about this is the former England U21 international has come in for the season’s duration, which suggest Marcus isn’t going to be back anytime soon!
