Yesterday we reported on how Mark Hughes had suddenly been catapulted into the frame to become the next manager of Aston Villa.
Following events yesterday, the scenario is fast approaching a point where something could happen.
Aston Villa, due to Gerard Houllier`s health, agreed a severance package with the Frenchman and are now, definitely, on the look-out for a replacement.
Fulham, wary of Hughes being on the hit-list, have, reportedly responded by telling Villa not to approach Hughes. But, and it is a big but, there appears to be no indication as to whether Hughes activated the clause in his contract that could make him a free agent.
Other articles we stumbled on suggest that Fulham have also offered Hughes a new deal with his pay improved.
Like we said earlier, something could happen very soon!
