Just recently Paul Konchesky has been defying a niggling knee injury to continue to pull a Fulham shirt on week in and week out.

This Sunday, Fulham travel across London to play West Ham United in a match that is looking to be something of a six-pointer. It`s a match that pits Paul against his former club and a match in which he scored a brilliant goal last season.

But, thankfully for us, Paul feels that Fulham is his natural home and has spoken to the media about his time at Craven Cottage and how settled he his, commenting,
‘It feels like I have been a Fulham player for a lot longer than two-and-a-bit years. If anything, it feels like I’ve been with the club for five or six.”

‘But that’s actually a good thing – it shows that I am settled here. But I would love to be here for that long, because I’ve loved every minute so far, and I can only see my time at the club getting better.’

Encouraging thoughts but we`d like to ask whether there is a player out there, who, as Paul points out, has had two more contrasting seasons, or as Paul explains,

“The first year I signed I thought that we would do well but we ended up having to battle it out until the end.”

‘But then last year really confirmed what I had originally thought. With the players and staff that we have, we should be looking at the top half of the table rather than the bottom. So last season’s transformation really didn’t surprise me. Hopefully my third year at the club will be just as memorable.’

We hope it will be as well Paul and the sooner we get out of this mediocre run of results the better. I don`t suppose there`s any chance of another wonder goal on Sunday is there?
