Whilst it was announced yesterday that our American international, Clint Dempsey, has agreed a new contract extension, the future remains cloudier for one of our other American contingent.

Kasey Keller, who at thirty-eight years of age is one of the elder statesmen of the Premier League, isn`t sure where he`ll be playing next season.

Obviously, at his age, Kasey wants / requires regular football and that is something Fulham may not be able to guarantee him.

Kasey came to Craven Cottage in the summer and there is no doubt that his signing surprised a few people. However, when called upon he has performed admirably and has played his part in our fight to maintain our Premier League status.

His predicament is best summed up in his own words,

“I won`t play a whole lot longer so if I have to move I`ll do it.”

“Whatever comes around that feels right, whether staying at Fulham or going somewhere else, then that`s what it is.”

We here at Vital Fulham are of the opinion that Kasey could well be playing his last game for Fulham at Fratton Park this weekend especially with the reported imminent arrival of David Stockdale from Darlington.

  • We wont get an offer. He’ll be going on a free if we don’t offer a new contract!

  • I guess you haven’t seen him play recently! He refuses to command his area! Fantastic shot stopper, but poor at everything else.

  • I agree with o_e – Niemi has been too up and down in terms of his quality. Keller gives you excellent goal keeping every game. That said, he is getting a bit long in the tooth and won’t be satisfied with being less than the #1. Putney may be right and a return to the US could be in his future.
