Not too many days ago we reported on how Steve Bruce, up at Hull City, was keen to hang onto David Stockdale on a full time basis.

Currently on loan at Hull, Stockdale has impressed his manager and the lure of regular first team football could keep him there.

If that is the case, has Martin Jol already identified a replacement?

We ask that because, this morning, the transfer gossip has linked Jol with making a move for the Charlton keeper – Ben Hamer.

The six feet four inches tall twenty-five year-old is starting to carve out a reputation at the Valley and is possibly seen as the long term replacement for forty year-old Mark Schwarzer.

As for interest from other clubs, Nottingham Forest are the only other club to get a mention!
