The tabloid press are in unison this morning that Martin Jol is in the market for another keeper.

With Mark Schwarzer approaching his 40th birthday this October, the rumours are that Jol is looking to bring the Dutch keeper Maarten Stekelenberg to Craven Cottage.

Stekelenberg, currently keeping goal for AS Roma, is rated in the £8 million bracket and appears to be keen on a move to London with a source at Roma quoted as having remarked,

“Even though Maarten is happy in Italy and is not actively seeking a move, he would relish the chance to wok with Jol again and play in the Premier League.”

“He knows how much the Fulham coach admires him.”

All we`ll say is that a certain David Stockdale might be more than a little miffed if such a deal goes through!
