Roy’s pre-season plans have been rocked by reports that Diomansy Kamara will be out of action for six months.

The Senegal striker reportedly ruptured knee ligaments during his country’s 3-1 World Cup qualifying victory over Liberia.

Kamara is set to go under the knife this week and is expected to be sidelined until January.

Kamara started to show his ability at the tail end of last season with Roy putting his faith in the pacey striker. This news is no doubt a huge blow even if Kamara wasn’t in Roy’s plans as now we can’t sell or play him.

Even less striking options for us now!!

  • This is a pain, not because I think he is an important part of the team but because I was hoping we might sell him for a few quid.

  • DAMN! but any way he is still good and i reckon he could do the business as a suporting stiker or an attacking left winger

  • agree with Backslash2010, Pictures of todays training is on the offal and you can see cook training! A rare site if ever there was one!

  • saved your bacon last year. Hope he gets fit for you guys and you can push on for a higher placed finish

  • time to splash the cash and get a replacement – anyone fancy anyone in particular in English footy at the present?

  • You feeling ok today Putney? Gudjohnsson would be great or Vennegor of Hessilink or Jean Claude Darcheville.

  • Beattie – failed at Everton, Gudjohnsen is a good shout though and he’s avaialble!

  • Beattie is awful, if anything he’d be a worse buy than Kamara. As I’ve said before, Kamara had one game last year where he played to the kind of potential we were hoping he’d have when the idiot spent 6 million on him. Don’t forget the game after game that I cetaintly was watching down the cottage when he was awful and lazy. Remember the Hammy end getting on Kamara’s back for not chasing down the half chances and just mooching about the half way line?

  • donfulham, I know you hate Kamara, but this could mean more playing time for Eddie Johnson. We need to bring in a striker NOW!
