Any hopes we had of making it twelve points out of twelve were done for in the last minute at Villa Park yesterday.

Ina game where both teams flattered to deceive, Fulham left Villa Park empty handed when the two Villa subs, Gardner and Weimann, combined to score that crucial last gasp goal.

Afterwards, Jol was rueful commenting,

It`s hard to concede in the final minute but if you switch off and make mistakes that`s what happens.”

“It`s a harsh lesson to learn. A draw was deserved – they were the better team in the first half, we were better in the second.”

“We should have nicked it when Duff hit the woodwork and Riise came close. I didn`t think they caused us problems until that last minute goal.”

But some might say we hardly troubled them ether!

  • that’s the truth… fulham looked happy to take the point and go home… 90 minutes of defending is tough to accomplish…
