The appearance of Chris Martin in a Fulham shirt last Saturday, against Barnsley, was as much of a surprise as his absence had been in previous games.

Against Barnsley, Martin scored and provided an assist in the 2-0 win as Fulham moved another place up the Championship table.

This Saturday lunchtime, Fulham make the short trip up the road to take on Queens Park Rangers, in a lunch-time kick-off, Martin is again expected to be in the starting eleven Slavisa Jokanovic selects.

Ahead of the game our boss has given an indication that he believes the 28-year-old, who has scored 8 goals in 18 Championship games, will remain a Fulham player for the remainder of the season, despite his parent club, Derby County, showing an interest in him.

Speaking to the media, Jokanovic has remarked to the local media,

‘The situation with Chris Martin is over.

‘I bought a flat in Putney 15 years ago and then sold it. I can’t ask for it back now, because it is impossible.

‘This country is very famous for contracts. Everything is on paper and really clear.’

Although I`d hazard a guess that any chances of Chris Martin making his move a permanent one might have slightly, to put it mildly, diminished!
