Joe Kamara Speaks!

Yesterday I questioned why Joe hasn`t made more starts this season. Today I found out the answer.

In a recent interview that Diomansy gave, he spoke eloquently about his Fulham career remarking,

“When I play for Fulham I`m paid to score goals.”

“I`ve scored just one league goal, but I`ve had just three starts in eight games. It is not easy, but I hope to score more than ten goals in the Premier League, without penalties. This is in my mind.

“Now I have thirty games left – no problem.”

“I just need to get scoring. I have one goal – and that is a problem.”

“Fulham spent a lot of money on me – £6m – and I came here to score a lot of goals.”

However, it turns out that since his arrival Diomansy has been carrying a knee injury that has left him not quite fully match fit as he explains,

“When I`m 100 per cent maybe I`ll score more goals.”

He`s also quick to plug (and why shouldn`t he?) a charity project he`s involved with in his native Senegal, a charity named, Open the Future with his sister in Senegal, a charity that has the following aims,

“It helps people with malaria and I want to open a school for young people because, in Africa, people don`t go to school. It`s important.

Finally, he goes on to discuss his long term future at Craven Cottage remarking,

“I want to stay at Fulham for years.”

“We don`t want to just avoid relegation every year we want to play in the UEFA Cup.”

“That is the plan.”

Well let`s hope it come to fruition!
