Jerome Interest?

Having signed a couple of young midfielders is Martin Jol looking to boost our striking options?

The reason I ask is that Fulham, in the morning press, have been linked with a move for the Birmingham City striker, Cameron Jerome.

Now whether that`s purely down to the fact that Birmingham, in the middle of a financial crisis, are seen as fair game for a bit of cheap asset stripping or whether it is genuine interest remains to be proven.

Jerome, 24, scored ten goals in the season before last but, as Birmingham headed towards relegation despite winning the Carling Cup against Arsenal, only hit five in all competitions last season.

When we come to a price, we may have to consider that Bolton had a £5 million bid rejected in June, although the extent of Birmingham financial woes were not common knowledge then.

We reckon that if Fulham were to offer a similar amount now he`d be available, although we should also bear in mind that Stoke are also expressing an interest and the aforementioned Bolton Wanderers might also be willing to re-enter the battle to sign him.

Would he be a good buy for us do you think?
