With Fulham caught in the midst of a run of form that has seen them plummet into the relegation places, in the Premier League, perhaps a change of competition is exactly what we need when it comes to the next match.
But, with a Carabao Cup tie to be played in midweek that might not be the case when you consider that Manchester City are the opposition.
However, could it be just the kind of game whereby Fulham produce the unexpected and get a result?
I’d like to hope so!
There’s no doubting that Manchester City, this season, have higher priorities than winning the Carabao Cup and with Pep Guardiola’s side taking on Tottenham Hotspur, at Wembley, in a Premier League match on Monday evening, we could suggest that Fulham will face a weakened side at the Etihad Stadium.
But, even if that is the case, Fulham will have to be on top of their game, there can be none of those familiar defensive lapses and any chances that fall our way must be taken with clinical precision.
Are Fulham capable, on current form, of doing the above?
I’ll leave you to decide!
