Injuries can be a terrible thing.

Image for Injuries can be a terrible thing.

I can still vividly remember an incident at Stamford Bridge involving a Chelsea player, Eddie Newton.

Before you all turn against me, perhaps I should point out I`d gone as a guest simply to wile away a few hours I had spare. Chelsea were entertaining West Ham and an innocuous looking incident involving a collision between the Chelsea keeper, Kevin Hitchcock, and Eddie Newton resulted in a sickening crack that saw Newton carried off on a stretcher with a broken leg.

Therefore with our very own Jimmy Bullard slowly recovering from his own horrific injury it doesn`t surprise me to learn that Jimmy had dark thoughts about his own predicament.

Here, very briefly, is what he had to say,

“I had some doubts”

Injuries can be very complex and sometimes even the most straight forward of knocks can result in complications, therefore when a player gets a major knock the road back to full fitness can seem a long and windy affair.

Hopefully, Jimmy has the confidence and fortitude to get through any small setbacks he may still encounter, as is often the case, no one said the journey back was going to be easy!
