Having left himself out on a limb after leaving Fulham and hoping someone else would require his services; Mark Hughes has found himself out in the cold.

Of the vacancies that existed when he chose to leave Craven Cottage both the Villa and Chelsea posts were filled, with Alex McLeish and Andre Villas-Boas respectively.

But word reaches us, courtesy of a news source, that Hughes has now turned down the chance to resurrect his managerial career at Hamburg.

Hamburg have started their Bundesliga season poorly and with Frank Arnesen knowing all about Hughes suspected he might be interested.

But, the vibes coming our way infer that Hughes is happy to sit back and wait for a post to become vacant in the Premier League and has no immediate desire to work on the continent.
