Returning to a scene of a triumph is always a good experience.

This Sunday, as all Fulham supporters know, we return to Fratton Park and memories of a day in May, a Danny Murphy goal and scenes of sheer relief flood back into the memory banks.

That day, Fulham exceeded expectations to become one of the few teams to take all three points at Fratton Park last season. Aaron Hughes, like everybody else, has wonderful memories of that day and has set the scene for Sunday when he explains,

‘Everyone’s got good memories of Fratton Park and we’ll be going there with confidence.’

‘It may be the same pitch but it’s a different day altogether and we won’t be dwelling on that.’

‘If we can take three points it would be great. In the Premier League it’s always hard to win away and for any team an away win is a good day.’

If we keep playing the way we have been it will come at some stage.’

‘We don’t want to be where we were last season as we said that right at the start.

‘The league gets harder every year. Every team poses a threat whether they’re playing home or away and we’ve got to keep working hard and keep doing what we’re doing.’

‘It’s important we believe in ourselves and I see belief amongst the lads in what we’re doing.’

Positive thoughts, lets hope they bring about a positive result.
