And so, it came to pass, yesterday, it was to be Huddersfield Town that grabbed, via the Championship Play-Offs, that cherished Premier League place and the financial rewards that come with it.

Huddersfield Town, in what was a mammoth Championship Play-Off Final, beat Reading (who eliminated Fulham) 4-3 on penalties after the game had finished 0-0 after extra time.

The Yorkshire side, in the final Championship table, had finished just a point ahead of us, amassing 81 points to our 80.

In the two Championship games between the two sides, Fulham had thrashed Huddersfield 5-0 at Craven Cottage and in the reciprocating fixture Fulham humbled Huddersfield by winning 4-1 on their own soil.

It just goes to show that when it comes to the play-offs, it really is a lottery.

However, it`d be churlish not to offer Huddersfield Town our congratulations on realising the same dream we held.
