Hodgson to Delay Fat Lady Singing!

As I sit here preparing myself for the short trip to Craven Cottage to watch my beloved Fulham try to engineer three points from a match I know we must win, I can`t help but ponder over a few words Roy Hodgson has had to say about the encounter.

Hodgson, like the rest of us, has deemed that today is a must win encounter but still harbours the feeling that relegation is not for us.

Here`s what he had to say,

“I can`t expect us to play like a top-four team, but I think we are playing to a high level and I`m satisfied with the work rate, desire and commitment.”

“We maintain we can play well enough to get out of trouble and we have to show it.”

“We have been written off for quite a long time now. I maintain there are enough games left and if we take enough points we can survive.”

“We still have Sunderland and Birmingham to play at home and Reading to play away. We also have Liverpool and Manchester City. It is not an easy programme but we are playing teams where at this stage of the season we can win.”

“I`m trying to be honest in my assessment, I am not being overly optimistic, but I will not throw in any towels until there is no other option.”

Do those words do enough for you to cancel your own appointment with the Fat Lady?
