After the 2-0 win, it was naturally a happier Roy Hodgson who spoke to the media after the game.

Speaking about his striking duo, a duo he had protected from criticism during the last ten days, he had this to say,

“Johnson and Zamora were a constant threat to the Wigan defence,

“That is what we hoped they would be and what we hope they will continue to be.”

‘I am happy to have 11 points after nine games.”

‘We remain modest here at Fulham. We know it is going to be a hard season.”

‘But certainly 11 points sounds a lot better than eight from eight”

‘It was an important win.’
